Lifesaving demonstration at North West SwimSafer Day Carnival

Strengthen your water safety skills and help to ensure water safety in your community!

The North West Life Saving Club (LSC) was introduced on 28 August 2016 to equip members with basic lifesaving capabilities through lifesaving training conducted by certified instructors, to help promote lifesaving and water safety in the district and forge friendships with other like-minded individuals.

LSC members will undergo two lifesaving modules in order to complete the course. Upon completion, LSC members will assist with North West SwimSafer Club events to promote water safety in the community, as well as conduct basic lifesaving skills training to members of the North West SwimSafer Club.

Memberships is open to Singaporeans/ Singapore Permanent Residents aged 17 and above living in the North West district, or students aged 17 and above from any Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in Singapore.

Preliminary Module

Standard Module

Aim

Lifesaving 1, Lifesaving 2, Lifesaving 3 (LS123)

Bronze Medallion (BM) and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Course Information

- To provide an introduction to lifesaving and to develop an initial appreciation of water safety, rescue and resuscitation skills.

- To improve trainee’s knowledge and skills in lifesaving preparatory to the Standard Module.

- Prepares the trainees to respond effectively in water emergencies to the standards required of a qualified lifesaver.

Pre-requisite

- 50metres front crawl

- 50metres breast stroke

- 50metres lifesaving backstroke

- 50metres lifesaving sidestroke

Successfully completed and passed the Preliminary Module

*LSC members can look forward to$500 reimbursement for successful completion of both the Preliminary Module and Standard Module, and $200 reimbursement for successful completion of the Standard Module only.
