The last few months had been a roller coaster ride. One minute, it looked like we were reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. The next, a surge in COVID-19 cases brought us to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert). But different from last year, we are better prepared – mandatory mask wearing, stronger contact tracing capabilities, mass vaccination rollout, and flexible work and school arrangements.
As a community, we have also adapted our lifestyles to the ever-changing situation. Other than everyday inconveniences like not being able to meet friends for Healthy Living workouts like Brisk Walking or Dance-Fit, many also missed taking part in Green Living programmes such as Recycle @ North West.

While we may not be able to resume these activities in the short run, we are working with our partners and volunteers to adapt your favourite programmes – wherever possible – so that you can continue to enjoy them safely. For example, many of you are familiar with the weekly North West Health Qigong Club’s live workouts, and our SkillsFuture webinar series which had been popular with residents looking to learn new skills or upskill themselves.

This year, you can also look forward to:
  • engaging with green enthusiasts and brainstorming ideas at our Sustainability Forums
  • keeping fit with new varieties of physical and virtual workouts
To support you through this difficult period, North West CDC is ramping up our efforts to connect with you virtually. I encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and subscribe to our Cohesion newsletter and Telegram channel, to receive firsthand updates about upcoming programmes and schemes.
Let’s stay united in our fight against the pandemic, and join the conversation on our social media channels. Keep in touch!
